A Safe and Spooky Halloween
By Milberger Agency · October 27, 2026
Halloween is one of the best nights of the year for kids in the neighborhood — and a night that calls for a little extra awareness from all of us.
If you've got trick-or-treaters, make them easy to see. Add a glow stick, a flashlight, or some reflective tape to costumes, and stick to well-lit streets and sidewalks. Halloween is one of the busiest nights of the year for pedestrian traffic after dark.
Behind the wheel? Slow way down in neighborhoods and watch for excited kids darting between parked cars. A few extra minutes of patience is worth it.
Hosting or decorating? Swap real candles in your jack-o'-lanterns for flameless LED lights — a knocked-over candle in a pile of dry leaves is exactly how a fun night turns into a bad one. And keep your walkway clear and lit, since a well-lit path helps prevent the slips and falls that can turn into a liability claim.
Do those few things and the only scary part of the night is your neighbor's inflatable spider. Happy Halloween from all of us at The Milberger Agency.
